3. Boenisz (1920, 12:50.08)
4. Schöneborn (1916, 12:51.08)
5. Gomolinska (1900, 12:55.20), Eudes (1900, 12:55.59)
Gyenesei topped group A with a great swim, as expected, and a great fencing, this one surprising. British swimmers dominated the pool and Trautmann's good performance in combined event was enough to qualify for the final. The surprises were Toth and Grolichova missing the final. Top pentathlete Rimsaite qualified in 14th place, saving her energy for the final.

4. Stevens (1824, 13:14.89)
5. Dianova (1816, 13:16.78)
Caze just managed the lead in combined event to qualify in first place in the group. Canadians McCann and Stevens had good performances in fencing and combined event, respectively, to reach the final, while Canadian#1 Vakalis failed to qualify in Group A; the Italian team had different fate, with Bonessio and Mancini failing to qualify while in the other group the national #1 (Cesarini) didn't disappoint. Group A had in general best times in swimming and combined event than Group B (cut point in group A was 3796, enough for a 5th place in Group B), even though Chinese Zhang (Gr. B) had the best time in combined event overall with a massive 3/4 minute lead over the second place in this event in her group and it was enough to put her in the final.

4- Benedetti (2276, 11:21.06)
5- Hilgeholt (2268, 11:23.61)
Marosi easily qualified this time (he barely qualified to final in Mexican world cup) and just managed the lead in combined event (with only 15th time of the group) to be the qualifier with best score of all groups. Lombach good run in fencing was not enough to put Sweden in the final, a country with a long tradition in modern pentathlon, and Atkinson couldn't repeat his final appearence in Cairo even with a great run and shooting in combined event, where Mitsyk and Higelholt improved their positions to take a place in the final and Borrmann faced the same fate of Atkinson. Taylor also started the combined event in a good position but failed to qualify. The surprises were Xu with a good performance and clinching the 9th position and Lupi out of the top12 in the group.

Canadian Riker-Fox was the winner of the group, that have experienced and talented pentathletes like Capalini, Gebhardt and Bremer left out of the final. Like in Mexico, Cooke had the fastest swim, but he couldn't repeat the final appearence he had in Playa del Carmen. Majewski, Brady and Miguchi had a good combined event to finish amongst the finalists.

Zakrzewski was in a good position before the combined event but for some reason he didn't start or finish the event. Junior Lesun, originally from Belarus but who changed nationality to Russian, showed his good form by finishing in third position. Woodbridge was the only Brit to qualify to final in all groups.
